The visit included a meeting between Al-Zaidi and French President Emmanuel Macron, and the signing of six memoranda of understanding, declarations of intent, and a cooperation protocol in the fields of defense, artificial intelligence, youth, research and innovation, development, energy, and civil aviation.

The agreements included a letter of intent between the Ministry of Defense and the artificial intelligence company “Harmattan”, a declaration of intent between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, as well as a declaration of intent to partner in promoting youth opportunities, research and innovation. It also included a declaration of intent to strengthen the partnership with the French Development Agency (AFD), a cooperation protocol on a gas supply and sales contract with Total Energies, as well as a declaration of intent to cooperate in the field of civil aviation with the French Ministry of Transport.

During the visit, Al-Zidi received the president of Total Energies, the president of Rothschild Bank, a group of presidents and representatives of French companies, as well as the president of the Arab World Institute.

He also held a meeting with a group of correspondents from French and foreign newspapers and media outlets, before leaving France for Berlin.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi arrived in the French capital, Paris , on Sunday evening, September 13, for an official visit.
