Al-Aboudi: The government will vote on the 2027 budget in September.

Iraqi government spokesman Haider al-Aboudi announced on Monday that the cabinet will vote in September on the draft general budget law for 2027.

Al-Aboudi said during a press conference attended by Shafaq News Agency that “the financial deficit in the budget is based on the Financial Management Law, and will not exceed 3%,” indicating that “the Ministry of Finance is currently working on the preparations, procedures and requirements necessary to complete the law.”

He explained that “the 2027 budget will be a program budget, and will include government programs related to the electricity and development sectors in the governorates of Salah al-Din and Diwaniyah,” noting that “the issue of contract regularization is under study by the Ministry of Finance.”

In the file on supplying generator owners, Al-Aboudi indicated that the Ministry of Oil obtained authorization from the Prime Minister to grant generator owners 35 liters per kilowatt.

Regarding oil exports, the Iraqi government spokesman confirmed that “Iraqi crude exports have increased and are now no less than two million barrels per day.”
