Iraq’s domestic public debt rises to 103 trillion dinars by the end of May
Iraq’s domestic public debt rose to more than 103 trillion dinars by the end of May 2026, marking an increase compared to the previous month, according to data from the Central Bank of Iraq. Dailynews reports
Central Bank data seen by Shafaq News Agency showed that domestic public debt reached 103.179 trillion dinars by the end of May 2026, compared to 95.679 trillion dinars at the end of April 2026, and 90.515 trillion dinars at the end of 2025.
The domestic public debt was distributed among the total claims of the Ministry of Finance in favor of the Central Bank amounting to 63.199 trillion dinars, loans amounting to 20.270 trillion dinars, bonds worth 10.868 trillion dinars, in addition to treasury bills that settled at 8.842 trillion dinars.
