The Kurdistan Democratic Party Stands On The Sidelines Of Al-Sudani’s Nomination: We Are Waiting For His Government Program
Earth News / Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) representative, Jayi Timur, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the party stands neutral in the issue of the nomination of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for the position of Prime Minister, and we are awaiting his directions as well as his government program, especially with regard to the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Taymour said in a statement to Earth News, “We consider Muhammad Shia’s candidacy a good step in the way of forming the next Iraqi government,” noting that “we in the Kurdistan Democratic Party stand neutral on the issue of his candidacy and await his directions as well as his government program, especially with regard to the Kurdistan Regional Government.” And the dues of the Kurdistan region and the outstanding issues between the two parties for years, especially the oil and gas law and the dues of the Peshmerga forces.”
He explained, “Therefore, it is too early to give our opinion about him. We wish him success if his candidacy remains, because it is just a symbolic step, given that his name has not yet been officially established as a candidate for the framework. We will wait and will not precede events.”
