The House of Representatives raises its session to Monday and sets next Wednesday to elect the president
Shafaq News / The Iraqi parliament adjourned on Saturday its session to next Monday, after it failed to complete the quorum for the presidential election session.
A brief statement by the Parliament’s media department stated that the Speaker of the House of Representatives adjourned the session to elect the President of the Republic next Wednesday, while a regular session will be held on Monday.
On Saturday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi opened a regular session of the House of Representatives, in the presence of 202 deputies, in a session that was scheduled to choose the President of the Republic, which requires the presence of 220 deputies.
