Deputy: The Current Government Cannot Continue, And The Iraqi Street Rejects It

The Independent / Representative Abbas Al-Atafi called on the political parties to seek to remedy the situation of the country at this stage and form a government that meets the demands of the Iraqis.

Al-Atafi said that “the concerned parties should strive to remedy the situation of the country in this difficult stage, and that they should realize the danger in the absence of a real government that represents the people and is able to meet all the demands that fulfill its aspirations.”

He added that “dialogues are still ongoing between the political blocs regarding the agreement on the name of a candidate for the post of prime minister and on the political blocs concerned with this file, the agreement as soon as possible and to put people who are politically acceptable according to the demands of the street.”

The Iraqi MP stated that “the current government is a government that has submitted its resignation and its role has ended and it has turned into a caretaker and cannot continue in this way for three years and that the Iraqi street has rejected the figures that have been put forward for the position of Prime Minister and the political blocs should unite now, especially for the blocs involved in nominating a prime minister in order to resolve the situation ”

He explained that “the continuation of the political blocs through consultation and dialogue among them will produce a candidate’s name during the coming days and resolve the file during the next week and that the public interest requires that all efforts be combined to come out with a government that meets the aspirations of the street, and be able to manage the country’s economic and political conditions, and work to restore Building and qualifying important and vital institutions, and they will be supported by the House of Representatives with all its components
