This came about after the parliament and the GOI ratified the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” requirements. Iraq then requested for the inclusion of the ancient cities and the marshes in the south to be placed on the World Heritage List. This is the action of a country that believes it has a future and it wants its heritage recognized as well as protected. Good for them.

That is a good thing…these private sector entities are being pulled together and targeted for funds and assistance in a way that will promote “reforms” and the “private sector” for Iraq…more of the progress we want and need to see for them.
