Widespread parliamentary discontent with the contents of the State Audit Bureau’s report

MP Riyadh Adai described the report issued by the head of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit regarding the Board’s work as “disappointing” on Wednesday, arguing that it failed to mention the true extent of wasted funds in state institutions.

Adai told the Information Agency, “The report lacked any indication of the actual amount of wasted funds and did not clearly name the officials or entities involved in cases of financial and administrative corruption.”

He added, “There are significant contentious issues in several ministries, including the Ministries of Defense, Transportation, and Trade, which are the backbone of providing for citizens’ basic needs.” He pointed out that “these ministries entered into contracts with several companies that resulted in the waste of substantial sums of money, in addition to the illegal disbursement of bonuses from insurance funds.”

It is worth noting that the Parliament reviewed the Federal Board of Supreme Audit’s 2025 report, which comprises approximately 7,000 pages, during a session in which the head of the Board, Ammar Subhi Khalaf, was present.
