The Secretary of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, said that this connection will add to the Iraqi electric power to relieve the burden of the Iraqi citizen; This is what the Iraqi government seeks in partnership with the Kingdom.

Al-Ghazi added that the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Iraq and the Kingdom has economic and political returns, and as a result the current government’s policy is to open the spirit of competition between all the neighboring countries of Iraq and there will be a plurality of energy sources, which is the strategy adopted by the government.

Al-Ghazi noted that Iraq may be a corridor country for the export of electricity to other countries such as the countries of the Arab Mashreq and North Africa.

And he added, “We hope to complete this connection as soon as possible to solve the current electricity crisis, because the electricity crisis is one of the government’s priorities. We must speed up the executive side and we will provide all facilities and support with the brothers in the Ministry of Energy in Saudi Arabia to complete the project.”

The Secretary of the Iraqi Council of Ministers pointed out that the cooperation will move to other projects such as oil, gas, agriculture and petrochemicals between the two countries. It is the result of the development of Iraq between the Kingdom and Iraq.
