Sairoun: The political forces have set strict specifications for the new central bank governor
The deputy of the Saeron Alliance, Riyadh Al-Masoudi, confirmed, Thursday, that no candidate for special grades will not pass the later the approval of the political forces, indicating that the position of the bank governor is a sovereign position and represents the spirit of the state and a professional and honest personality must be chosen.
Al-Masoudi said in a statement to “the information”, that “the prime minister has the right to nominate a candidate for the position of central bank governor or any position of special ranks, but it cannot be imposed unless it is approved by the political forces, and that any candidate will only pass through that gate.”
He added that “the position of the central bank governor is a very important position and is the economic spirit of the state. Therefore, all political forces will be closely scrutinized for the seriousness of the financial position,” indicating that “the political forces today have defined strict specifications for the personality of the central bank candidate and are summarized by efficiency, integrity and professionalism.”
The deputy for the State of Law coalition had warned Al-Kazemi, in a previous statement to “the information”, against naming his advisor Salem Chalabi as governor of the Central Bank, because he was involved in corruption files and that he was imposed by a foreign country of her nationality.
