Iraqi Protesters Reject Premiership Candidate Suggested by Maliki
ERBIL – Iraqi protesters have rejected a candidate for the country’s premiership who has been suggested by former PM Nouri al-Maliki.
The majority of political parties have agreed on Mohammed Shia al-Sudani as a candidate for the post of future prime minister, but the demonstrators on Sunday made it clear that they would not support him, according to a report by Sky News.
Sairoon alliance, led by Iraqi powerful Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, and Victory coalition of Haidar al-Abadi have already rejected to support al-Sudani.
