Foreign Minister calls on world countries to invest in Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim on Monday (November 5th, 2018) called on the world to activate investment in Iraq.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry responded to the obituary that Hakim met with the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jan Kubic, and reviewed with him the overall political situation, security and international support provided to Iraq.

During the meeting, al-Hakim called on all countries of the world to invest in Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction of the restored areas of the organization.

Hakim stressed the continuation of the Iraqi government in cooperation with the UNAMI mission, calling for the need to maintain the budget allocated for the work of the mission, because of the exceptional situation experienced by Iraq.

For his part, Kubic stressed the continued support of the United Nations to Iraq in all fields, and expressed thanks for the cooperation provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and high coordination, and contribute to the success of the work of the United Nations Mission in Baghdad.
