Abadi coalition will not give names to hold positions in the government of Abdul Mahdi

Baghdad today – Ali al-Sunaid, close to outgoing Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, said on Friday that the latter would prefer to remain a “deputy” without receiving any position in the government of Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi.

Al-Sunaid said in an exclusive interview (Baghdad today) that “the news that Abadi’s candidacy for the Foreign Ministry or first deputy prime minister is inaccurate.”

“Abadi, if he is chosen by Abdul Mahdi for any position, will refuse and remain a deputy,” he said. “Abadi does not seek any position and does not seek positions of satisfaction, as previous governments did with some political figures.”

Al-Senaid said that “the victory coalition gave full freedom to Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and will not give him any names and did not talk to him about his entitlement to ministries, and the victory coalition did not discuss the eligibility of elections to this moment.”

The outgoing Prime Minister, confirmed on Thursday (October 18, 2018), that the next option and the basis to be adopted is the parliamentary prosecution with the victory bloc, in addition to the political body outside the House of Representatives, to lead the project of the coalition of the overall victory, which works to create the third force that Express a class that does not find itself in ethnic sectarian blocs, as well as segments of the middle class, cultural and civil.
