IRAQ STARTS CLEAR-UP WORK IN MOSUL’S OLD CITY

MOSUL — After a long and fierce battle that finally led to the liberation of Mosul, Iraqi forces have started clearing up the war-torn city which has been reduced to a wasteland of rubble after months of brutal fighting.

The Old City, Mosul’s historical heart, has been among the hardest hit areas by the house-to-house fighting backed by airstrikes, artillery and heavy machine guns used to uproot the Islamic State (ISIS) militants, who had resisted with suicide bomb attacks and booby-trapped nearly all buildings.

In this part of western Mosul, thousands of structures including an iconic mosque have been destroyed, with many reduced to little more than concrete shells. The streets are strewn with rubble and scrap metal and lined with half-collapsed, bombed-out buildings.

Walking through the ruins, a China Central Television (CCTV) reporter passed a hole knocked into the side of a building in one of the Old City’s narrow alleyways, revealing what used to be a living room, with tables, chairs and a television set.

While government soldiers worked to clear up the rubble, the sound of warplanes and sporadic gunfire could still be heard, as Iraqi forces fought to eliminate the last pockets of ISIS resistance who defiantly remain.

“The airstrikes are aimed at eliminating the remnants of the ISIS fighters fleeing the Old City. Many of them have fled by road along the river. We spotted them on the ground and that’s why we are carrying out the airstrikes,” said Mehdar Hamid, a commander of the Iraqi anti-terrorism forces.

US envoy to anti-ISIS coalition says to help stabilize retaken areas

US special envoy to the global coalition against ISIS said on Thursday the next priorities against the militants will include helping to stabilize liberated areas, NRT reported.

“The battle in Iraq is far from over. Iraqi forces with our support will soon move to liberate remaining territories controlled by ISIS, including Tal Afar, Hawija and and al-Qaim. We will support them in the military campaign and in what comes next, at the humanitarian, stabilization and governance levels,” Brett H. McGurk said in Washington.

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over ISIS in Mosul on Monday after nearly nine months of devastating urban warfare, though Iraqi forces have continued to clash with militant holdouts.

Yet authorities have not prepared a post-battle plan for governance and security in Mosul, officials say.

Trump congratulates the Iraqis on the liberation of Mosul: days a few days

US President Donald Trump on Monday evening congratulated Iraq on the victories by the security forces against the Al-Qaeda organization and the full restoration of the city of Mosul.

Trump said in a press statement that “the days of Daash are numbered and there is little time left to eliminate this organization.”

“We in the United States and the international coalition are proud to stand with the Iraqi forces and all those who have made this moment of liberation possible,” he said, adding that “we have made tremendous progress against a prodigal during the past six months compared to the years after the transformation of a dire threat.”

The Prime Minister, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Haider Abadi announced earlier today, from Mosul, the liberation of the entire city of Dahesh, three years after the organization’s control over it.

Central bank sales rise in foreign currency auction

Baghdad – Journal News The sale of foreign currency by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) on Wednesday sold more than $ 178 million, after selling $ 176 million yesterday.

“The volume of the amount sold today amounted to 178 million, 537 thousand and 334 dollars, at an exchange rate of 1182 dinars per dollar, with the participation of 39 banks and 10 companies for financial transfer.”

The statement said that “the sale of amounts transferred to the accounts of banks abroad, as well as the sale of cash was the price of 1190 dinars per dollar.”

Abadi from Mosul: Victory by hand and settled and fight in the final meters

BAGHDAD – The Journal News Iraqi Prime Minister General Commander of the Armed Forces Haider al – Abadi, said that “victory by hand and settled and our troops are fighting in the last meters,” in response it seems to delay a formal declaration of victory over the “Daesh” in the old city of Mosul.

The al-Abadi, who is alive in Mosul since yesterday, the security forces that provided life services to Iraqis who were trapped, and to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their homes and businesses, as well as the province’s efforts in this regard.

He called on Iraqi Prime Minister all staff in the Nineveh province to join the work and provide services to residents of the city, in parallel with fighting the remnants of the “Daesh”.

Iraqi forces have been fighting in recent Acbar when the Tigris River, according to al-Abadi, who said: “We will announce soon victory over Aldoaash.”

After Mosul’s full liberation Iraq’s Abadi visits Nineveh Ops Command

Iraqi PM Haider Abadi has visited headquarters of Nineveh Operations Command and met with military commanders.

This comes after the city of Mosul had been declared fully liberated from ISIS terrorists on Sunday.

Abadi was due to give a victory speech on Sunday. But the speech was delayed for unknown reasons.

The city fell to ISIS in June 2014 amid collusion from former PM Nuri al-Maliki.

Iraqi army, supported by US-led international coalition, has launched an offensive code-named ‘We Are Coming, Nineveh’ to oust ISIS terrorists from the city.

Iran-allied sectarian militias, known as IMIS, gave support to Iraqi forces.

But the Iran-backed militias have committed atrocities against civilians, particularly the Sunnis.

His response – Yeah Mosul is over completely liberated only 12 to 18 houses have hostage situation about 35 isis fighters left.

Phillyman (Dinar Guru) –   [Once they finally clear ISIS wonder what the next obstacle is gonna be before we see a change in the rate…]   …Even though they clear IS out of Mosul they are still in many other areas of Iraq.  Will it stop the changes we are looking for from moving forward?  Violence has permeated the region for centuries.  [Guru] Breitling says the Sunnis will always hate the Shia but that it will not impact this reform.  There seem to be too many countries/businesses pouring assets into Iraq to think it won’t turn around soon but of course time lines have brought so much frustration to this investment.

Please don’t think this is somehow an in country RV question I am asking as we know that rumor is totally bunk. Just thinking they may want to control the influx of currency to begin with is what I am getting at in a nutshell I guess.]  I think that what you are describing is still an in-country RV, with a twist that the in-country part is temporary. If that’s what you are asking, then yes – it is possible.  I don’t think it’s likely,  but it is possible.

BGG (Dinar Guru) – …I half way didn’t expect them to do this..but folks this is real.  They are going to turn over the last bit of whatever is remaining in those funds…the food for oil program to Iraq and they are recognizing them as a country.  They are not talking about letting them out of Chapter VII and it’s not even under chapter VII.  This is Chapter VII charter.  It’s a protection program.  Looks like to me they had the meeting in 3 minutes and they put their rubber stamp on it and it’s over.   It’s not the end of the security file…it’s the end of that particular program.  There’s one more log on the fire.  [post 2 of 2]

Adam Montana (Dinar Guru) –    Things are looking up! Mosul has now been officially declared a victory.  HCL should be addressed, officially, in a timely manner…SOON. We can be confident that the IMF and CBI are on good terms. CBI is acting like a real player, and the IMF is giving them an approving nod simply by not saying anything contradictory about them. Regarding oil PPB, and the recent agreement amongst the major OPEC members, Iraq is essentially exempt from the exportation restrictions. This gives Iraq a HUGE advantage when they are ready to “flip the switch”!   Abadi is back in high-gear and on a mission…All in all… GREAT progress right now, and Iraq is in perfect position. Negotiations are beginning between  Baghdad and Kurdistan, which is going to lead to a very fast resolution on the HCL, paving the way for a smooth and *SUDDEN* RV… if we’ve ever been closer to the end of this ride, I can not remember when!  This still isn’t a guaranteed event, but MAN oh MAN is it looking good!

BGG (Dinar Guru) – …I half way didn’t expect them to do this..but folks this is real.  They are going to turn over the last bit of whatever is remaining in those funds…the food for oil program to Iraq and they are recognizing them as a country.  They are not talking about letting them out of Chapter VII and it’s not even under chapter VII.  This is Chapter VII charter.  It’s a protection program.  Looks like to me they had the meeting in 3 minutes and they put their rubber stamp on it and it’s over.   It’s not the end of the security file…it’s the end of that particular program.  There’s one more log on the fire.  [post 2 of 2]

Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abadi blesses the Iraqis for the great victory in Mosul

Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abbadi blessed all Iraqis with the great victory that was achieved in Mosul by the sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded and their families.

“Our heroes are human rights defenders and they sacrifice themselves for the liberation of the human being and the saving of civilians. The government supports the efforts to defend human rights and holds accountable for any violations,” he said in a speech at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. “The humanitarian organizations must verify their sources and see rejoicing. The people of Mosul and their welcome to the Iraqi forces liberated, surprising the grief and wailing of some in the joy of the Iraqi people this victory.

“Where was the role of the organizations when they were an advocate, killing the sons of Mosul and destroying everything?” He asked.

Dr. Al-Abbadi stressed that he should not allow the return of inflammatory and sectarian discourse and described it as a speech by calling on the countries of the world not to tolerate terrorists.

He also stressed that the future direction of the government should be focused on the economic, developmental and educational aspects that are the basis for the renaissance of the state and society, and the necessity of combating corruption that harmed the state and society and activating the law.

His Excellency praised all efforts in support of the battle and whoever put the word in its right place and contributed to the achievement of victory.

Different Translation – Prime Minister Dr. Haider al – Abadi for all Iraqis , the great victory achieved in Mosul , the sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded and their families.

He stressed in a speech opening the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday that our heroes are human rights defenders and sacrifice themselves for human civilians and save liberation, and the government supportive of the efforts to defend human rights and be held accountable for any violation, and humanitarian organizations to ensure and verify the sources and see rejoicing the people of Mosul and welcomed the Iraqi forces liberated, surprising some grief and wailing at the height of the joy of the Iraqi people in this victory.

He also asked sovereignty: “Where was the role of the organizations when they were the sons of Mosul Daesh kill and destroy everything?”. He stressed Dr. Abadi , not to allow the return of sectarian and inflammatory rhetoric, calling the speech Aldaasha, calling on the world not to tolerate terrorists, adding sovereignty: You must Evelt any terrorist punishment and will not issue an amnesty for terrorist killers. He also stressed that the sovereignty of the future direction the government should focus on the economic side, development, and education , which is the basis for the rise of the state and society, and the need to fight corruption , which has hurt the state and society, and to activate the law. And he saluted all sovereignty and supporting efforts to battle anyone who put the right word and shares its place to achieve victory.

Trump congratulates the Iraqis on the liberation of Mosul: days a few days

US President Donald Trump on Monday evening congratulated Iraq on the victories by the security forces against the Al-Qaeda organization and the full restoration of the city of Mosul.

Trump said in a press statement that “the days of Daash are numbered and there is little time left to eliminate this organization.”

“We in the United States and the international coalition are proud to stand with the Iraqi forces and all those who have made this moment of liberation possible,” he said, adding that “we have made tremendous progress against a prodigal during the past six months compared to the years after the transformation of a dire threat.”

The Prime Minister, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Haider Abadi announced earlier today, from Mosul, the liberation of the entire city of Dahesh, three years after the organization’s control over it.

Central bank sales rise in foreign currency auction

Baghdad – Journal News The sale of foreign currency by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) on Wednesday sold more than $ 178 million, after selling $ 176 million yesterday.

“The volume of the amount sold today amounted to 178 million, 537 thousand and 334 dollars, at an exchange rate of 1182 dinars per dollar, with the participation of 39 banks and 10 companies for financial transfer.”

The statement said that “the sale of amounts transferred to the accounts of banks abroad, as well as the sale of cash was the price of 1190 dinars per dollar.”

Abadi from Mosul: Victory by hand and settled and fight in the final meters

BAGHDAD – The Journal News Iraqi Prime Minister General Commander of the Armed Forces Haider al – Abadi, said that “victory by hand and settled and our troops are fighting in the last meters,” in response it seems to delay a formal declaration of victory over the “Daesh” in the old city of Mosul.

The al-Abadi, who is alive in Mosul since yesterday, the security forces that provided life services to Iraqis who were trapped, and to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their homes and businesses, as well as the province’s efforts in this regard.

He called on Iraqi Prime Minister all staff in the Nineveh province to join the work and provide services to residents of the city, in parallel with fighting the remnants of the “Daesh”.

Iraqi forces have been fighting in recent Acbar when the Tigris River, according to al-Abadi, who said: “We will announce soon victory over Aldoaash.”

His response – Yeah Mosul is over completely liberated only 12 to 18 houses have hostage situation about 35 isis fighters left.

Phillyman (Dinar Guru) –   [Once they finally clear ISIS wonder what the next obstacle is gonna be before we see a change in the rate…]   …Even though they clear IS out of Mosul they are still in many other areas of Iraq.  Will it stop the changes we are looking for from moving forward?  Violence has permeated the region for centuries.  [Guru] Breitling says the Sunnis will always hate the Shia but that it will not impact this reform.  There seem to be too many countries/businesses pouring assets into Iraq to think it won’t turn around soon but of course time lines have brought so much frustration to this investment.

The Arab Water Ministerial Council on Thursday called on Arab countries to support the Iraqi government in the reconstruction of water resources facilities.

Security forces fight last hours battle in Mosul

Federal Police forces are fighting the last hours of battle against ISIS in al-Nujaifi street in Mosul’s Old City, Lieutenant-General Raed Shaker Jawdat, commander of Federal Police Forces, revealed on Friday.

Jawdat said that his forces are achieving goals courageously, adding that ISIS terrorists are besieged in a 250 m area in al-Nujaifi street.

On Thursday, Federal police units controlled an underground ISIS training center in Albu Saif village in southern Mosul.

This comes as Iraqi security forces ousted ISIS terrorists from the right bank of Mosul and are currently sweeping the war-torn city to cleanse it from the terror group’s remnants.

Months of grinding urban warfare have displaced 900,000 people, about half the city’s pre-war population, and killed thousands, according to aid organizations.

Baghdad / Sky Press: The religious authority in Najaf province on Friday called on the government to provide employment opportunities for graduates in the public and private sectors.

“The state is responsible for providing job opportunities for graduates in the public and private sectors,” said Ahmed Al Safi, the representative of the Red Cross in Karbala.

“Those responsible should provide opportunities for graduates so that they can serve this country,” he said.

In any case, I would personally take Keywords at his word, regardless of the numbers.  Saleh’s statement is sort of like Trump’s “I hope” statement. “Like a hard curency” is not the same as “world reserve currency” in my view.  I believe that, unless Planet X wipes us out in the next year or so, the dinar will become a world recognized currency. Ministry of Electricity cancels the contract of an Emirati company in Basra

The Ministry of Electricity has concluded the contract of an Emirati company contracted to operate and rehabilitate the electricity network of the electricity distribution districts of northern Basra.

According to a document in which the director of the General Directorate of Electricity Distribution of the South, Mohamed Abdel Amir Hussein, “the minister agreed to terminate the contract of Dow Al-Jumaih for investment in the distribution sector of the northern regions of Basra and to take legal action against them because of the company.

“The contract with the UAE company was for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the electricity network of the districts of the distribution of electricity north of Basra has been canceled because of their lack of work since the date of signing the contract and even though the frequent correspondence with them and the latest warning book.”
He noted that “the UAE company will be loaded all the legal consequences under the contract and instructions in force.”

Oil rises to the highest level in two weeks

Twilight News / Oil prices rose to the highest level in two weeks on Thursday to continue to rise for the sixth consecutive session, after weekly data showed a decline in US production, including reduced concerns about an increase in the surplus supply.

Crude prices fell to their lowest level in ten months last week, but has since risen more than seven percent to continue the longest rally since April.

The futures rose to global crude measurement Brent 33 cents to $ 47.64 a barrel by 0832 GMT, after touching the highest level in two weeks at $ 47.83 earlier in the session.

WTI prices rose US median 32 cents to $ 45.06 a barrel. Crude and recorded the highest level during trading at $ 45.24 and is also the highest level in two weeks.

US government data showed on Wednesday that domestic crude production of 100 thousand barrels per day last week, fell to 9.3 million barrels per day in the biggest drop since July July 2016.

The Brazilian commercial agency ( BIG Lebanon) opened its first franchise in Iraq in Najaf province through an official ceremony held under the auspices of the Brazilian Embassy in Iraq, in the presence of the Brazilian Ambassador, Governor of Najaf and many economic figures in Lebanon and Najaf.

“Relations between Iraq and Brazil are old but now they are developing more through investment, Brazil is a multi-freedom country and so are the various industrial, commercial and agricultural fields,” Brazilian Ambassador to Iraq Miguel de Malaga Lehez said.

“We offer this company today to contribute to the development of trade relations between Iraq and Brazil and for Najaf, this holy and safe province, which is important to be our starting point for the development of trade relations in future projects.

For his part, the governor of Najaf Luai Yasiri said that “the opening of the project came to the presence of security in this province, which made the Brazilian ambassador to open the project himself,” noting that “the project is a step in the right direction as it will contribute to raising the economic level of the province.

Al-Yasiri added that “many economic issues that concern both sides have been discussed through investment in the agricultural and industrial sectors. This will revive the economy and employ hundreds of workers. In the future, a delegation from Najaf will go to the government and its merchants to benefit from mutual trade.

Oil prices fall due to increased US production

Trend Press / Agencies Oil prices fell more than 1 percent on Friday as US crude futures fell below $ 45 a barrel on news of increased US production and following earlier reports that OPEC production also rose.

Brent crude futures were down 61 cents, or 1.3 percent, at $ 47.50 a barrel, according to Reuters.

Kuwait distributes food aid on the right side of Mosul

The charity “Ronahi” charity on Friday distributed food aid to the people of the right side of the city (Mosul) in cooperation with the Iraqi Consulate General of the city of Arbil, capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

The foundation was distributed in cooperation with the Kuwaiti consulate in Erbil and coordinated 500 food baskets with 500 families in the district of July 17 and the area of ​​Musheiref in the right side of Mosul, the official told KUNA.

Oil rises to the highest level in two weeks

Kuwait distributes food aid on the right side of Mosul

Iraq presents a plan for the reconstruction of liberated areas starting from 2018 and ending in 2027

Security forces fight last hours battle in Mosul

Kuwait distributes food aid on the right side of Mosul

Airline announces flights between Najaf and Baku airports

Jaafari: victories achieved the unity of the people of Iraq

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari said security victories have been achieved thanks to the cooperation and unity of the people of Iraq.

This came to clarify Jaafari, commenting on a British journalist after he considered that «the recent victories of Iraq at the expense of the terrorists was the cooperation of Britain». The minister said at a news conference on the sidelines of his participation in trade and investment conference in the British capital London, that «these victories have been achieved thanks to the cooperation and unity of the people of Iraq in their war against terrorism«, congratulated the recent victories by the Iraqis achieved in Mosul and other areas in conflict with terrorist groups .

In response to a reporter’s question on the disarmament of some quarters the way, al-Jaafari said »If you mean these paramilitaries, they are of the brave sons of the Iraqi people.»

Washington announces its intention to support Iraq by $ 150 million to develop economic projects

Economy News Baghdad: The US ambassador to Iraq, Douglas Seelman, announced Wednesday the intention of his country to provide financial support to Iraq amounting to 150 million dollars, to support economic and service projects.

“The United States of America announces its intention to provide Iraq with $ 150 million in financial support to Iraq to support stability and economic and service projects such as electricity and water, and to encourage the return of displaced people and health support,” Sileman told a news conference.

“These amounts will be in addition to the earlier US $ 1.3 billion,” he said.

Jubouri and Amiri discuss developments in the political and security situation in Iraq

Search House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri, with the secretary general of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri developments in the political and security situation in Iraq, and the importance of concerted efforts to support stability in the liberated areas.

NATO: Our support for Iraq goes beyond the phase of liberating Mosul

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the liberation of the city of Mosul from a staunch terrorist.

“When [Dahsh] is defeated and Mosul is liberated, then we need Iraqi forces capable of creating the right conditions for stability, peace and development,” Stoltenberg told a news conference on Thursday evening after the conclusion of the meeting of NATO defense ministers.

“We believe that the role of NATO in Iraq goes beyond the liberation of Mosul and the defeat of [Da’sh] and we are now working to help the Iraqi authorities in the development of security institutions.”

He stressed that military operations in Iraq were always aimed at defeating Da’ash.
Security forces are battling the last battle stations to regain control of the city of Mosul, the main bastion of Daish in Iraq since mid-2014.

Mosul is the second largest city with a population of 2 million before it fell.

In any case, I would personally take Keywords at his word, regardless of the numbers.  Saleh’s statement is sort of like Trump’s “I hope” statement. “Like a hard curency” is not the same as “world reserve currency” in my view.  I believe that, unless Planet X wipes us out in the next year or so, the dinar will become a world recognized currency. When is another question entirely. I started this over 10 years ago and am still waiting for it to just start, let alone finish.  [reference Guru mike’s post 6-20-2017….will the debate continue?]

Al – Muthanna denies the issuance of the results of the third average: will be announced after the feast

The Directorate of Education in Al-Muthanna province Wednesday denied any results regarding the third intermediate grades, likely to be announced next week.

“The media office in the Ministry of Education confirmed that the correction process has not yet been completed for all the results of the training in Baghdad and the provinces because of the enjoyment of teaching staff working in the Central Examination Checkbook in the Ministry of Eid holiday,” said Director of Education Media, Abbas al-Zaidi, .

He explained that “every manifestation on the social networking sites regarding the results of the examination is false and incorrect results, and the ministry did not announce any results for the ranks of the third medium.”

He added that “the ministry once completed the correction process will be officially announced through official channels,” noting that “the Ministry is likely to announce the results during the next week through the official website of the Ministry of Education, as usual through Internet links, and everyone can see them.”

Zaidi said that “provincial schools separately nominated a number of teachers as teachers and were sent to the audit and correction center in the ministry in Baghdad, for a period of 15 days to about 30 days, and will continue to complete their work after the Eid,” pointing out that “the debugger receives wages equivalent His work is about 600 dinars for correcting one exam book, in addition to the amount of his delivery. ”

Oil rises to the highest level in two weeks

Twilight News / Oil prices rose to the highest level in two weeks on Thursday to continue to rise for the sixth consecutive session, after weekly data showed a decline in US production, including reduced concerns about an increase in the surplus supply.

Crude prices fell to their lowest level in ten months last week, but has since risen more than seven percent to continue the longest rally since April.

The futures rose to global crude measurement Brent 33 cents to $ 47.64 a barrel by 0832 GMT, after touching the highest level in two weeks at $ 47.83 earlier in the session.

WTI prices rose US median 32 cents to $ 45.06 a barrel. Crude and recorded the highest level during trading at $ 45.24 and is also the highest level in two weeks.
