Parliament: 70 Shiite MPs support the passage of the Al-Zarfi government
BAGHDAD – Mawazine News, a member of the victory coalition, Muhammad Abed Rabbo, confirmed on Wednesday that 70 members of the Shiite forces in Parliament were standing next to the Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zarfi to pass it.
Abed Rabbo said, “There are blocs trying to block the passage of any candidate raised in the current period in order to keep the resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi,” pointing out that “these blocs supporting the resigned Prime Minister have obtained significant concessions from him and are seeking to preserve them.”
He added, “The negotiations are still going on with all the opposition political blocs and they have not yet reached an agreement,” stressing that “the Al-Fateh bloc is among the most vocal protesters of Al-Zarfi’s nomination for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.”
He stressed that “Al-Zrafi seeks to persuade most of the political blocs before going to parliament to present his government for a vote on it,” considering that ”
Abed Rabbo said, “The scenario of Muhammad Allawi can be repeated with Adnan Al-Zarfi and will be rejected by the heads of political blocs.” He indicated that “there are more than seventy Shiite deputies standing next to the Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zorfi.”
The Iraqi Central Bank announced the Basra branch, on Tuesday, to complete the process of providing funds in Basra and the southern governorates with funds for the purpose of distributing salaries.
The Central Bank of Iraq confirmed, on Wednesday, that there was no change in its policy of financing trade and imports.
