The Office of the Inspector-General of the Ministry of Education on Sunday recommended the recovery of about half a billion dinars that had been spent in duplicate for one of the schools in Anbar province.

The Office of the Inspector-General of the Ministry said in a statement received by the «Journal News» that "the Office recommended the withdrawal of the amount of (464,677,980) four hundred and sixty-four million six hundred and seventy-seven thousand dinars and nine hundred and eighty dinars, after investigating the subject of the repetition of the salaries of a school in the Directorate General of Anbar Education for two times and for a period of From March 2014 to April 2015.

He added that "the Office of Baquba (salary reduction) by 10 percent for one year for some employees to prove their failure to continue to pay salaries to a school twice, causing damage to public funds.

The ministry's statement also referred to the issuance of severe disciplinary penalties, and the recommendation to recover the amounts and refer the matter to the Integrity Commission, after an investigation into the matter.

The Office of the Inspector-General of the Ministry of Education annually checks many of the work of the directorates of education in Baghdad and the provinces, including the payment of salaries.
