Iraq's Abadi discusses military cooperation with Kurdistan Peshmerga

Iraq's PM Haider Abadi met Sunday with President of Kurdistan Regionís Security Council in Baghdad where they discussed security coordination.

A press statement from Abadi's office said, " Both sides have tackled means to improve consensus and harmony between Iraqi forces and Peshmerga forces in the future.

The statement stressed the collaborations between both sides was decisive to defeat ISIS terror group.

Following the meeting, Masrour Barzani tweeted "They discussed anti-ISIS offensive and cooperation between Peshmerga and the Iraqi army".

"We stressed the need to tackle broader differences through peaceful means and honest dialogue that respects the aspirations of Iraqís various communities," Barzani's tweet added.

Their visit comes shortly after Barzani met with high-level Washington officials on a trip to the United States.
