Al-Hadithi: allocating 2.5 trillion dinars to meet the dues of farmers

A spokesman for Prime Minister Saad al-Hadithi's media office said the government had allocated 2.5 trillion dinars to meet the accumulated financial entitlements of farmers for their market crops for the Ministry of Commerce.

Al-Hadithi said in a press briefing that the Cabinet decided to plan the marketing of the wheat crop for 2017 and distributed the dues of farmers and farmers for the current season and prepare a comprehensive plan of action including the non-accumulation of crop carriers through the organization of schedules delivery according to harvest times in their regions. Five hundred billion dinars per month starting from April until August 2017 to pay the dues of marketers to allocate 10% of these amounts to the Ministry of Agriculture in order to pay the farmers' dues for wheat and barley seeds.

He pointed out that the Council also decided to reallocate the amounts recovered from farmers for the loans incurred by their own in the agricultural initiative projects received from the farmers for the years 2014-2015, amounting to 198 billion dinars to be allocated exclusively for agricultural initiative projects of the Agricultural Bank.
