Iraq calls for Kuwait to take serious steps to remove Iraq from Chapter VII
BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network – called on the government of Iraq, Kuwait on Saturday to take serious steps to remove Iraq from Chapter VII.
He said government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh’s (Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network) that “Iraq calls for Kuwait to take serious steps to remove Iraq from Chapter VII.”
He added that “Iraq has begun several steps and we expect similar moves from Kuwait to end this chapter and the start of new relationships based on respect for sovereignty and the promotion of trade.”
Iraq’s government announced the difficulty out of Iraq from Chapter VII as a result of the inability of Iraq to end my Archive and missing Kuwaiti.
Iraq has since 1990 with Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations imposed after the invasion of Kuwait in August of the same year.
This chapter allows the use of force against Iraq as a threat to international security, in addition to large amounts of frozen assets in the financial world banks to pay compensation to those affected by the invasion of Kuwait.
IMO, Iraq is "barking up the wrong tree." It isn't Kuwait that is keeping Iraq in Chapter VII, it is the UN. And the UN just stated days ago that they want Iraq to implement the Erbil agreement, so if Iraq really wants out of Chapter VII, Maliki knows what he has to do. He just won't do it. Buh bye, Maliki!
