Barzani requests won’t serve Kurds: Jalal Talabani

Arbil- Iraqi president and ruling the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Jalal Talabani criticized Kurdistan Region president Massoud Barzani’s recent remarks over withdrawing vote of confidence from Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Talabani said in a press conference in Germany that Barzani’s remarks about Maliki would not serve Kurds as the Kurdistan Coalition will find no other alliance in Iraq and added, “Kurd- Shiite coalition is strategic for both Kurds and Iraqi people.”
Talabani further said in the conference that he would quit politics after returning from Germany and would take a different stance. He, however, did not disclose farther details about his intention.
Talabani is receiving treatment and medical test in Germany.
Despite Massoud Barzani who has always blamed Maliki and Baghdad government policies and has recently attempted to oust the PM, Talabani believes negotiation is the only way to leave problems behind and has offered holding an all-parties-present national meeting to discuss Iraq’s political impasse.
