Kurdistan National Security Council formed

Baghdad (NINA) – Official announcement made on Sunday, July 8, in Kurdistan region stating the formation of Kurdistan National Security Council.

In the announcement ceremony, President of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barazani, said, "Forming the National Security Council is an important step toward serving the people of Kurdistan and protects their lives and properties. It belongs to all the people of Kurdistan region, not to one party or side."

Kosert Rassoul, Vice President of Kurdistan region, and Nechirvan Barzani, the region's Prime Minister, attended the ceremony.

Kurdistan region's Security Council consists of the Assayish, Military Intelligence and the region's Information Agency; Masrour Barazani appointed the Council's Advisor, at the rank of Minister. / End.
