NEWSTIME WITH BGG Sunday, August 28, 2016

    BGG says(6:29 PM):
Hey gang - we all ready for News Time??

    BGG says(6:30 PM):
I advertised it on THE BLOG and THE OBSERVER?

I guess someone needs to tune in a bit more

    kalis says(6:30 PM):
Good ole BGG always thinking of us and keeping us in the loop ..

    kalis says(6:30 PM):
    yer sir

    BGG says(6:30 PM):
    Yup - that's me!!

OK - let's get things kicked off!!

Mrs BGG would you mind saying a quick prayer - get us started off right??

    MrsBGG says(6:31 PM):
Heavenly Father, we come to You by the Blood of Jesus. Thank You that You are The Good Shepherd! Thank You Holy Spirit for Your leading and guiding. Thank You for Your Mercy, Grace, & Forgiveness. Thank You for answered prayer in this room. We love You and trust You. We pray for those in Louisiana and Italy. We pray for our country and the election that Your will, will be done. We thank You for each person who serves on this site. We pray that You will bless each person and their families here. We give You all the Glory, Honor, and Praise, In Jesus Name, Amen.

    magnetlady says(6:34 PM):
    Evening BGG

    MrsBGG says(6:34 PM):
During News Time if anyone has a question or comment, please use your ?, it makes it easier for the copiers and
everyone to follow. Thank you .

    BGG says to magnetlady(6:34 PM):
    Evening Mags.

    BGG says to magnetlady(6:34 PM):
    How are you?

    magnetlady says(6:34 PM):
    Doing Great Thank you

    BGG says to magnetlady(6:35 PM):
Speaking of which - We so appreciate the job you do for everyone!!

    magnetlady says(6:35 PM):
    You are most welcome

    magnetlady says(6:35 PM):
Everyone is most welcome, love doing it.

    BGG says(6:36 PM):
I do to - but lots of folks don't really get it...

so - to start things off...

    david334 says(6:36 PM):
    Not me I get it

    BGG says(6:36 PM):
    listen up everyone...

give these folks a props when you can.

if you can't - relax. No problem... but don't be a TURKEY.

these folks do what they do "for the love of the game" - period.

    kalis says(6:43 PM):

    BGG says(6:43 PM):
throwing a tantrum isn't becoming... and trying to tell them how you want them approach you with your free meal is a little ungrateful (if you ask me)...

(BTW - include fire_fly and others in that last group)

    so - in conclusion...

    and wrap this up...

try to be smarter than the average dairy cow. Please...

    there's some wisdom here...

if a cow is eating - and runs across a stick in their trough...

they don't get offended and quit eating...

they don't pen up an e-mail to the ADMIN...

    (or the farmer)

telling him how offended they are - that there was a stick in their hay...

the cow just moves the stick aside and keeps eating. SIMPLE.

    I have a final question...

Have you hugged your MOD lately??

    MadDScout says(6:48 PM):

    MrsBGG says(6:48 PM):
    Yeah!! (((((Group hugs)))))

    jweath says(6:48 PM):

    BGG says(6:50 PM):
    OK - where we at??

    subgirl says(6:50 PM):

    BGG says(6:51 PM):
Here's some quick thoughts off the top of my head...

    this is an investment..

not some Rah - Rah club...

I cannot see how anyone is actually following the financial details of this thing and not be thoroughly EXCITED about where we are (finally!!)...

    david334 says(6:53 PM):
support the unbelieve window we have been given

and if people are rude can them

    BGG says(6:54 PM):
One point that gets missed alot - they have signed deals and agreed to remove and adhere to a more "international standard" regarding their internal MCPs... (the means "multi-currency practices")... THIS IS HUGE... MCPs coming to an end...

this is a big point in their whole "economic reform package" - it is a complete overhaul... MCPs and currency being only one point of the program...

Here's what they currently do -

they sell their oil in USD...

the GOI then buys back IQD from the CBI for internal projects...

they actually hold USD for external payments and projects...

so - even until recently - they are still (or have been) operating under some odd MCPs. The WB and IMF doesn't like it.

they have agreed to change - and have taken direct action and taken on breath-taking reforms on daily...

it's happening before our very eyes.

and my final thought is this... once they step across that "currency threshold" moving towards a "singular currency regime" - the logical solution is for the IQD to be "on par" with the USD (which they are currently using)...

you do realize what I just said - RIGHT??

    Elane says(7:03 PM):

    cobalt says(7:03 PM):

    jimplants says(7:03 PM):
    oh yeah

    jtank says(7:03 PM):
    date - rate - lol

    BGG says(7:03 PM):
the IQD is widely regared as "GROSSLY UNDERVALUED"... by noted world economists... real dudes.

    kalis says(7:03 PM):
yes and the moving toward that each day ..

    MadDScout says to BGG(7:04 PM):
IMF made a statement there was no reason to "devalue"

    BGG says(7:04 PM):
for them to move to a "single currency" there needs to be some parity once they do so...

    of course not.

    MadDScout says(7:05 PM):

    BGG says to MadDScout(7:05 PM):
but they can't come right out and say what it is they really mean (or convey their true intentions)...

    MadDScout says(7:06 PM):
"some parts of the economic reform are to be withheld from the public"

    BGG says to MadDScout(7:06 PM):
    of course!!

    MadDScout says(7:06 PM):
    Their quote

    BGG says to MadDScout(7:07 PM):
don't want to start a RUN ON IQD

    Nomad says(7:07 PM):
Yes, but you didn't say when! Just kidding...don't kick me to the curb! I'll move to the back row...LOL

    MadDScout says to BGG(7:07 PM):

    MX says(7:08 PM):
Iraq has never been in this position before

    BGG says to MX(7:08 PM):
    That is true.

    MadDScout says to MX(7:08 PM):

    BGG says to MX(7:09 PM):
We've had reasoning that we thought "might" work out...

    MX says(7:09 PM):
Worth something to get excited over IMO

    BGG says to MX(7:09 PM):
    but this is looking inevidable.

    MX says(7:09 PM):
    That's right

    BGG says to MadDScout(7:09 PM):
OK Pat - what do you have for News tonite??
(7:10 PM)patti was kicked out by patti!

Hakim assure Jabouri political truce and to apply the rules of parliamentary behavior

The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the House of Representatives Saleem al-Jubouri, the need for political calm in the parliament.

Hakim said, according to a statement his office "through receiving Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jubouri, and a number of leaders of the Union forces, we emphasized the importance of political appeasement, which starts from the dome of the parliament to go, the battle to liberate Mosul."

Hakim also stressed during the meeting, according to the statement "the importance of the House of Representatives to stand up in turn the regulatory and legislative, and let us to apply the rules of parliamentary behavior, consider the demand for electoral collect two practices in one day, and reducing the number of members of the House of Representatives and members of the provincial councils."...
    BGG says(7:14 PM):

    MadDScout says(7:15 PM):
    Reducing members

    BGG says(7:15 PM):
There are really several stories here - Mosul is likely all but liberated... there is a lot of political wrangling leading up to the actual retaking of the city.

I kind of think Hakim is tossing a veiled threat towards Jabouri.

Hakim was recently outed as a major crook - maybe so - maybe not... but the "higher ground image" is going to be a little tarnished from here on out.

    MadDScout says(7:17 PM):
Kind of reminding Jabouri he is responsible also

    BGG says(7:17 PM):
I think he's on board - just letting them know he's still here and needs a little "somethin..."

Here's another GREAT PIECE courtesy of MadDScout...

World Bank to discuss funding projects in Basra .. Nasraoui and gives priority to services

Economy News / Agencies ...The Governor of Basra, Majed Nasraoui, discuss financing a number of projects with the World Bank, and pointed to give priority to turnkey projects for implementation in electricity, health and education sectors, as he emphasized the Prime Minister's Office prepared the World Bank to provide financial assistance to Iraq and to the "unconditional mechanisms" .

Said Majed Nasraoui, during a joint news conference with the representative of the Prime Minister and Director of the World Bank, held in tow hall in Sheraton Basra, he said that a delegation from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Director of the World Bank came to Basra, yesterday, to look at a number of projects to solve it in the light of the economic crisis ", explaining that he had" discussed with the delegation of the priority projects and ready-to-implement, which hampered funding for financial support from the World Bank. "

He Nasraoui, that "the priority for its support of funding from the central bank projects are approved by the provincial council, which is water, electricity, infrastructure, health and education projects," noting that "the delegation will discuss these projects to support the financial funding, according to the elements of the central bank to implement them faster."

For his part, Deputy Director of the Prime Minister's Office, Nofal Abu Barns, during the conference, "The World Bank expressed its readiness to support the Iraqi government financial funding without conditions in order to support its reform program which was approved by the House of Representatives under the direction of the Iraqi economy in line with the changes taking place in oil prices "explaining that" Iraq is mainly based on oil and deal with the World Bank and donor institutions without conditions stipulated only that the government itself to deal transparently with the donors and cooperating with Iraq's institutions. "

In turn, the representative of the World Bank, Farid Belhaj, that "the cooperation between the World Bank and Iraq is not new and we are going to pay their relationship in a positive way," adding "there will be a working group at the technical level to translate this relationship on the ground of financial, technical and artistic to Iraq to support" noting that "the bank's dealings with Iraq, which is not any conditions."

Experiencing the province of Basra projects stalled since 2014 regarding the services and infrastructure due to the economic crisis and the lack of financial liquidity, despite her being investigated completion rates exceeded 50% of its implementation.

the Prime Minister's Office prepared the World Bank to provide financial assistance to Iraq and to the "unconditional mechanisms" ...

Of course - that is "pandering" to his base - he's showing the WB embracing them - without conditions... but - we know that's not true.

so what is the real picture??

there is a lot we don't know...

but the WB is there and happily shelling out $$...

in my experience - that never happens until the bankers are COMPLETELY HAPPY.

    MadDScout says(7:24 PM):
A lot of the(WB) conditions they are meeting now

I know it says "unconditional" but...

    BGG says to MadDScout(7:24 PM):

    MadDScout says(7:25 PM):

    BGG says(7:26 PM):
    another key phrase...

    BGG says(7:26 PM):
"The World Bank expressed its readiness to support the Iraqi government financial funding without conditions in order to support its reform program which was approved by the House of Representatives ...

"it's reform program..." - already approved by the HoR??

    what are they talking about??

    MadDScout says to BGG(7:27 PM):
Looks like they know what we don't LOL

    BGG says(7:28 PM):
that's exactly what it looks like...

    MadDScout says to BGG(7:28 PM):
    A plan

    Plan A

    BGG says(7:28 PM):
    along with my earlier comments

and in light of the MoP "printed plan" from 2012/2013...

looks like "back to Plan A"...

    MadDScout says to BGG(7:29 PM):
    y) Nice

    BGG says(7:30 PM):
BTW - MoP (Iraq Ministry of Planning) "printed plan" from 2012/2013 = IQD worth 1.13USD for approx. 3 years...

    last key phrase...

Farid Belhaj... adding "there will be a working group at the technical level to translate this relationship on the ground of financial, technical and artistic to Iraq to support".... the bank's dealings with Iraq...

Sounds like to me - they are going to have technical people "on the ground" everyday - from here on, making sure "what's what" and there is no more MONKEY BUSINESS...y)

    MadDScout says(7:34 PM):

    BGG says to MadDScout(7:35 PM):

    kalis says(7:37 PM):

    BGG says to Knucklehead(7:39 PM):
    Not high level players.

    MadDScout says to Knucklehead(7:39 PM):
No just that they were found guilty of the event

    BGG says to Knucklehead(7:39 PM):
if they were - we would have heard about it.

    MadDScout says to Knucklehead(7:40 PM):

    Knucklehead says(7:40 PM):
So could have been ISIS fighters?

    MadDScout says to Knucklehead(7:40 PM):
    Was Is

    BGG says to Knucklehead(7:40 PM):

    BGG says to kalis(7:42 PM):

    MrsBGG says to Pablo(7:42 PM):

    Pablo says(7:42 PM):
Do I remember correctly that the delete the zeroes project is supposed to be on an 18 month timetable which started last March? If that's so then wouldn't that imply that it wraps up in Sept?

    BGG says to Pablo(7:42 PM):
I am unfamiliar with such a time-table... BUT I'm good with it

    wilson6060 says(7:43 PM):

So has there been any more dicussion on the Fiscal year dates for Iraq? I know officially it is the same as the calander, but Mr White and Rcookie said on the last call it was Oct 1, I was wondering if part of the new reforms they moved their Fiscal year to coincide the US and UN

    BGG says to Pablo(7:44 PM):
Honestly - I don't think there was such a time-table... but the better news is - they seem to be on an actual NEW TIME-TABLE
