Algeria recorded a trade deficit for the first half of 2016

Algeria's trade deficit during the first half of the current year's 10.83 billion dollars against 8.51 billion dollars during the same period last year. According to APS, quoting the country's customs, the trade deficit increased by 27.2 percent. Exports recorded a significant decline worth 12.68 billion dollars during the first six months of 2016, compared to 18.93 billion dollars during the same period of 2015, according to data of the National Center for Media and statistics of the Customs. Imports also fell, but at a slow pace compared to exports, to reach 23.51 billion dollars against 27.445 billion dollars during the first semester of 2015.
