Finance proceed to pay the salaries of employees and retirees for the month of January

Ministry of Finance announced on Monday, the direct payment of the salaries of employees and retirees and a network of social welfare, for the month of January, without any delay.

The Finance Ministry said in a statement received (range Press), a copy of which, "The ministries of the State and its institutions, retirees and the social protection network staff salaries, for the month of January, has been direct since Sunday, January 17 2016".

The statement added that "the payment of salaries will continue to be for all ministries and institutions according to the specific contexts and previously approved, without any delay."

The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi denied, in (January 12, 2016), "rumors" about reducing employees' salaries or to give leave and reduce their number, and accused "some people seeking to shuffle the cards and transmit the rumors", as called for political blocs to "refrain from conflicts and auctions and cooperation with the government to overcome these difficulties ", he stressed that the organization (Daash) ignominious defeat of the wounded and security forces will continue to victories for the Liberation of land and restore stability.

The Finance Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives announced that, in the (January 7, 2016), that the government needs to 39 trillion dinars to meet the staff and the salaries of retirees, as described the economic situation which will pass by Iraq this year as "difficult", the Commission on oil and energy parliamentary predicted that Estimated revenue which accrue to Iraq this year to 40 billion dollars.

Some local media quoted sources as saying that the Cabinet is considering a proposal to reduce staff by half-time, as opposed to giving them half the salary, to overcome the expected budget deficit in 2016.
