Defense Minister: Daash controls 17% of the area of Iraq after it was 40%

Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, Saturday, that the control of the organization "Daash" on Iraqi territory has shrunk from 40% to 17% due to military operations backed by fighters from the popular crowd and the sons of tribal security forces led, pointing out that the coming days will witness the liberation of the remaining land .

Obeidi said during a press conference held at the Ministry of Defense and attended by Alsumaria News, "The organization Daash terrorist had control of 40% of the territory of Iraq, and today the efforts of the security forces and the crowd folk and tribal members shrunk control regulation on those lands for up to 17%."

He said al-Obeidi, that "the coming days will witness the liberalization of the security forces for the remainder of the territory, which is still controlled by Daash in the governorates of Anbar, Nineveh and Salahuddin."

Iraq has been an extraordinary security situation, as military operations continue to expel "Daash" of areas where the spread, as the international coalition carried out air strikes targeting the organization sites in those areas expect casualties in its ranks.
