He stressed the parliamentary legal committee member Slim Shawki , on Friday, that the President of the Republic has the power to choose his deputy or more, while not resolving attributed the reason to the request of the Federal Court appeal submitted on the abolition of the posts of Vice President to public outrage.

Shawki said in an interview to the Sumerian News, "The Constitution grants the president the power to one or more Deputy nomination and is regulated by law," adding that "no law regulates only the text and remained the Constitution."

Shawki said, "From a constitutional standpoint, if the Vice-Presidents of the Republic presented an appeal of the Federal Court on the Prime Minister's decision to cancel their office, the court can not control other than the constitutional text, and say the right of the president to choose his deputy or more."

He said Shawki, that "the court does not decide the appeal and request the case remains pending because there is a great public pressure on the Chief Justice Medhat al-Mahmoud, in line with the reforms."

The leader of a coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki said, on Thursday (29 October 2015), that the posts of Vice-President of the Republic has not been canceled and is still in the process of discussions, returned the decision of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi cancel those positions as "unconstitutional", as pointed out provision a complaint with the Federal Court in this regard.
