Basra International Airport transports more than 350 000 passengers in the first half of 2015

Shafaq News / Basra International Airport has recorded in the statistics published Sunday the entry and leave of thousands of people traveling in the first half of this year.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Transportation received by Shafaq News, Basra International Airport witnessed during the second quarter of 2015, an increase of 88 172 passengers compared to the first quarter of the same year.

The statement quoted Statistics issued by the Planning and Follow-up Department at the General Establishment of Civil Aviation, which indicate that more than 207 360 passengers used Basra International Airport in multiple destinations, as June has witnessed a significant increase in the number of passengers amounted to 140 577 passengers.

The statement added that overall, 207 760 passengers have entered or left from it through Flights to somewhere else, bypassing 119 188 passengers during the first quarter of the same year, which means that since the start of the year until the end of June, the airport received 350 790 passengers.

According to statistics, Basra International Airport received over the past three months, nearly 1260 trips while 1210 trips took off from it.
