    He made it clear in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "Masum did not say that the Kurdistan Alliance supports Maliki as prime minister for a third term, all he said is that this issue is constitutional, the Constitution allows the biggest winner bloc in the elections to appoint the prime minister, and until amending this paragraph, the winning bloc that Maliki belongs, can nominate him, but he did not say that we agree on the extension of the mandate of the Prime Minister. "

    Othman added that: "There is no agreement between the Kurdistan Alliance and State of Law coalition to extend the mandate of al-Maliki as it is so early to talk about this subject because who ensures Maliki's list will win in the upcoming elections?".

    Othman explained: "This issue is subjected to two things; either amending the constitution, by saying the biggest bloc appoints the prime minister but not the same person for three times in succession, or will be a political agreement between the parties on this subject."
