Nijaifi to Kuwait Premier: Parliament ready to vote on mutual pacts Wednesday, 12 June 2013 21:21


Baghdad (AIN) –The parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, discussed with the Kuwaiti Premier, Jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah and the accompanying delegation, the mutual relations.

A statement by the parliament received by AIN cited "Nijaifi received Sabah and the accompanying delegation where they discussed the mutual relations and the means to develop them in order to serve the peoples of the two countries."

"Nijaifi stressed the necessity of settling the previous disputes and forget them in order to start a new phase of the bilateral relations, assuring that the parliament is ready to vote on the mutual pacts between the two sides," the statement added.

"Nijaifi assured that Iraq is ready to develop its relations with the neighboring countries including Kuwait," the statement added, assuring that "Nijaifi stressed the necessity of keeping in touch with the Kuwaiti parliament to develop the relations."

"For his part, Sabah assured that his visit will help in consolidating unity between the two countries and their peoples, referring to the vital role of the Iraqi parliament in achieving peace and cooperation," the statement concluded.
