    Iraqi army and Peshmerga delegations’ meeting starts in Erbil

    Shafaq News / A Kurdish military official source revealed on Wednesday, that the meeting of the two military delegations of the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga has started in Erbil to discuss the mechanism of the spread and the presence of the security force in the disputed areas.
    An official source at the Ministry of Peshmerga told "Shafaq News", that "The military delegation coming from Baghdad has arrived Erbil and began after the arrival, the second meeting with the Peshmerga delegation in Erbil."
    The first meeting was held between military delegations in Baghdad last week and resulted in an initial agreement to resolve the raised crisis in the disputed areas.
    The deputy of the Minister of Defense, Saadoun al-Dulaimi announced on Wednesday “a comprehensive and radical" solution to the crisis between Baghdad and Erbil by two papers that will be approved at a meeting in Sunday, But that meeting was postponed to today.
    The Kurdish delegation confirmed during the previous negotiations with the Ministry of Defense on the need to cancel Dijla Operations Command and withdraw all military units to their former positions, in addition to the formation of a joint security checkpoints that take over security missions in the disputed areas.

    Abu Dhabi acquire oil privilege share in Kurdistan

    Shafaq News / National Abu Dhabi for Energy Company acquired 53.2 percent in Atrush oil privilege in Kurdistan for $ 600 million from General Exploration Partners (G. E.P).
    The spokesman, Basem Taqa said that it is expected to start production in 2013 and the acquisition process will be funded from “the company's resources."
    G.E.P is a joint project between Aspect Energy, which owns 66.5 percent in it and the remaining share is owned by a unit of the Canadian group Shamaran Petroleum Corp.
    The acquisition process represents the first time that an energy company based in Abu Dhabi runs a project for oil and gas in the Middle East.
    The spokesman of the company said that “our expansion strategy include the Middle East and North Africa."
    Kurdistan Region signed agreements with foreign companies such as Exxon Mobil, Chevron and Total.
    But these deals have angered the federal capital Baghdad, which refuses these oil contracts, concluded by Kurdistan Regional Government and consider it as illegal as it put some of the companies on the blacklist.

    Nujaifi calls to convene extraordinary session next Sunday

    Shafaq News / The parliament speaker, Osama al-Nujaifi called to hold an extraordinary session next Sunday to discuss the crisis of the protesters and demonstrators in some provinces of the country.
    According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the parliament in which "Shafaq News" received a copy of it “Nujaifi called on the parliament to convene an extraordinary session on Sunday 6/01/2013 at ten a.m. to discuss the current political crisis in the country."
    The statement added that "the parliament speaker demanded the parliaments’ members to come to the meeting and exercise their role in addressing the crisis and its developments."
    The protesters increased their demands over the past few days, in which they blocked the international road, demanding to cancel the anti-terrorism law and the release "innocent people from prison."
    The protesters are demanding to release of prisoners and cancel the anti-terrorism law and not to "marginalize" the Sunnis in the country.
    Demonstrations were covered directly by the channels that support the "Arab Spring" and especially Qatari Al-Jazeera satellite channel.
    The protests began after a special force have arrested a number of protections of the Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi, the leader in al- Iraqiya List, before releasing them and keeping nine only.
