    Kurdistan MP: Kurdistan is committed to the agreement with the Centre on the disputed areas.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Kurdistan coalition, Sherif Salman confirmed the Kurdistan region's commitment to the agreement with the central government over the disputed areas.

    He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The province is committed to the truce and all what has been agreed upon, because the compliance with these covenants and agreements is the best way to resolve all the problems, " noting that " both parties have left the problem of the disputed areas."

    He pointed out that:
    "the postponement of the joint meeting between the federal defense ministry and Kurdish Peshmerga, was not caused by the breach of the previous agreement, because the agreement is still existed and will be signed on the new date, which will be next Wednesday."

    A member of the parliamentary committee on security and defense, Juma'a al-Matuti had announced the postponement of a joint meeting between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Peshmerga in Kurdistan, which was scheduled on Sunday

    BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc, Bakir Siddiq called Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to initiate to resolve the crisis before it is too late.

    He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / today 30, Dec "The demonstrations and sit-ins, which are happening now, have escalated to the extent that considered a new crisis resulted from accumulations of pervious crises," noting " the masses did not demonstrate because of the arrest of the bodyguards of the Finance Minister Rafie Issawi,"

    He address the Prime Minister by saying
    "You cannot continue to create crises with your partners and fight them one after the other, but you have to start an initiative to find solutions."

    He confirmed
    "the importance of activating the questioning of al-Maliki and withdraw confidence from the government through the use of legal means, if unproductive dialogue continues."

    Ramadi / NINA / Acting Defense Minister, Saadoun al-Dulaimi, who arrived in Anbar province today Dec. 29, met with Anbar operations commanders, to contain the current crisis resulting from the arrest of a number of bodyguards of the Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi and the demands of the demonstrators and protestors in Anbar, especially the release of the innocent women prisoners and detainees from prisons.

    A source in the province of Anbar told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The meeting also discussed accusations of the demonstrators against the army to prevent people from other provinces to enter Anbar province to participate in demonstrations and the open sit-ins at the international road north of Ramadi."

    He added: "al-Dulaimi also discussed the security plan to protect the demonstrators and ways to prevent the exploitation of the terrorist elements to target the demonstrators."

    The source noted that the Acting Minister of Defense will hold a meeting with the Anbar governor, Qassim Mohammed al-Fahdawi and the Chairman and members of the provincial council in addition to the President of the Conference of the Iraqi Awakening Ahmed Abu Risha, in attempt to ease the current crisis.

    KDP MP confirms independence of Iraqi judiciary

    Baghdad (AIN) –Member of the Legal Parliamentary Committee, MP, Mihsin al-Sadoun, of the Kurdistani Democratic Party confirmed the independence of the Iraqi judiciary.

    Speaking to All Iraqi News Agency (AIN), he mentioned "The Iraqi judicial authorities are independent of the executive and legislative authorities."

    "The judicial authorities may commit a mistake but generally speaking, the Iraqi judiciary is well known for its independence," he remarked.

    He emphasized "We have reservations concerning the Federal Court only but other judicial sides like the Supreme Judicial we do not have reservations."

    Some sides accuse the Iraqi judiciary of being pressurized by some political sides in its decisions.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / The head of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, Humam Hamoudi discussed, at his office in Baghdad, with the Kuwait's ambassador, Ali al-Moamin bilateral relations between the two countries and the outstanding issues, which prevent removing Iraq from Chapter seven.

    A statement, issued by the Information Office of the President of Committee, said: "The two sides stressed, during the meeting, the depth of the historical relations and ties between Iraq and Kuwait," adding that "the two sides also discussed the most important files that concern the two countries, particularly the issue of getting Iraq out of the provisions of Chapter seven."

    The statement noted that "Hamoudi introduced, during the meeting, congratulations to the Kuwaiti National Assembly and the Committee on Foreign Relations," expressing optimism to begin a new page of parliamentary relations to put pressure on the two governments to promote bilateral relations to the highest levels," considering that "The parliamentary relations are the most important relationships and they exceed the relationship between the governments because they are permanent relations between the peoples.
