    Parliament to vote on several law drafts, host Youth Minister during Wednesday's session

    Baghdad (AIN) –The parliament will hold its regular session on Wednesday to vote on several law drafts.

    A statement by the media office of the parliament received by AIN cited
    "The agenda of Wednesday's session includes voting on the Federal Court law draft and some other law drafts in addition to hosting the Minister of Youth and Sport Jasim Jaafar."

    Mayahi urges Parliament to pass 2003 budget prior to end of 2012

    Baghdad (AIN) -MP Aziz al-Mayahi of the Parliamentary Economy & Investment Committee, called the Iraqi Parliament to endorse the budgets of the Defense and Trade Ministries prior to end of the current year.

    Mayahi said in a statement received by AIN "The annual budgets of the Defense and Trade Ministries are very crucial where the Defense Ministry needs financial allocations for armament process and purchasing weapons in order to be ready for the current challenges in light of the internal threats and regional unrests."

    "On other hand, Trade Ministry also needs funds to cover the Ration Card's financial requirements as the citizens' livelihood depends primarily on it," he added.

    Mayahi concluded by confirming "Some political blocs attempt to delay the endorsement of 2013 federal budget so as to disturb the Government's performance, hence, we call them to put the interests of the Iraqi people in their minds and move away from the political deals and outbidding."

    Parliamentary report recommends referring Iraqi, Russian key officials for Integrity Commission

    Baghdad (AIN) –The report of the Parliamentary Investigation Commission recommended referring a number of Iraqi and Russian officials who mediated the armament contract concluded with Russia to the Integrity Commission and to the General Attorney to complete the investigations with them.

    According to the report published by AIN a number of mediators' names were mentioned by MP, Izzat al-Shahbander, and the former spokesman of the Government, Ali al-Dabbagh, who were hosted by the Committee.

    The mediators included the Advisor of the President, Abdul Aziz al-Badri, Ali al-Fayadh, and Majid al-Qaysi, as well as the Russian figure, Youri.

    Source: SLC rejects investigating Maliki over armament contract concluded with Russia

    Baghdad (AIN) –A source from the Parliamentary Investigation Committee revealed "The representatives of the State of Law Coalition within the Committee attempt to delete the article related the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, within its report."

    The source stated to AIN "The SLC representatives within the Committee objected questioning Maliki and attempted to delete these questions."

    "The Committee authorized MP, Hasan al-Sinied, of the SLC to discuss this issue with Maliki yet the latter rejected to respond to the questions of the Committee," the source mentioned.

    "The Committee voted on involving the questions within its report but the SLC objected," the source concluded.

    MP accuses Government of pressurizing MPs to hide corruption

    Baghdad (AIN) -MP Mohamed Eqbal of the Iraqiya Slate accused the Iraqi Government of trying to pressurize the MPs after revealing many files related to corruption and outlaw acts committed by the security institution.

    In a statement to All Iraq News Agency, Eqbal said "The Iraqi Government tries to withdraw legality from some MPs through resorting to the Federal Court and arguing that there is no immunity for MPs outside the Parliament," noting that "these unacceptable allegations represent disregard to the Parliament."

    Earlier, AIN has published a message sent by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to the Parliament in which he denied any legal immunity for MPs if they release statements and opinions outside the Parliament.

    USA, UK attempt to keep Iraq under Seventh Chapter of UN's Charter, says MP

    Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Rafea Abdul Jabbar, of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee accused that the United States of America and the United Kingdom are attempting to keep Iraq under the Seventh Chapter of the UN's Charter.

    Speaking to All Iraq News Agency (AIN), he stated "There are serious intentions by Kuwait to settle the pending issues with Iraq which is an evidence of improving the mutual relations between the two countries to move Iraq from the Seventh Chapter to the Sixth one."

    "The government and the Foreign Ministry are serious in dealing with Kuwait and Kuwait expressed its readiness to settle all the pending issues," he added, noting that "Kuwait considers developing the economic relations with Iraq better than the other Gulf countries because the Iraqi economy and marketing highly serve Kuwait."

    It is worth mentioning that the Kuwaiti Prime Minister is supposed to visit Iraq within the next few days, but it is not clear that the changes in the Kuwait government will postpone the visit or not.

    IHEC announces approving 50 political alliances

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Deputy Head of the Commissioners Board of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Qatea al-Zubai, announced that the IHEC has approved 50 political alliances that comprise 174 political parties.

    A statement by the IHEC received by AIN quoted Zubai, as saying "The IHEC approved 50 political alliances that comprise 174 political parties to participate in the next elections of the provincial councils."

    He called "The political parties to expedite submitting the names of their candidates to the IHEC," noting that "The dead line to submit the names is the end of December 2012 which is not extendable."

    KRG: "Talabani's health improves"

    Sulaimaniya (AIN) –The Government of Kurdistan Region confirmed that "The health of the President Jalal Talabani, is constantly improving."

    The Office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan cited ''The member of the political bureau, Emad Ahmed, of the PUK has a meeting with the Vice-President of Kurdistan Region with the attendance of Sulaimaniya Governor Mohamed Salih.''

    The statement added ''The meeting included, discussions to provide the best services for citizens," stressing that ''The representatives of the PUK should be as responsible as they can be and loyal to their duties.''

    He pointed out that ''The President Jalal Talabani is the leader and secretary of the PUK, as well as being the President of Iraq with all the Iraqi communities, Arab, Kurdish, sects and others.''

    Federal Government, KRG reach agreement regarding disputed areas

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Ministry of Defense of the Federal Government declared reaching a comprehensive agreement with the Kurdistani Regional Government regarding the management of the security file in the disputed areas.

    The Acting Minister of Defense, Saadon al-Duliami, reported in a joint press conference with the Minister of Peshmerga, Sheikh Jaafar Mustafa, held in Baghdad after the joint meeting between the delegations of the FG and the KRG on Wednesday ''The two sides have reached a comprehensive agreement regarding the management of the security file and to reduce all tensions' manifestation in the disputed areas.''

    ''A delegation from Baghdad will head towards Erbil on next Sunday to sign the final agreement, ''the statement added.

    The Office of the Commanding General of Armed Forces declared that the agreement that was concluded between the Iraqi Federal Army and the Peshmerga Forces to withdraw their military elements deployed in the disputed areas after the recent crisis.
