    Talabani meets the U.S special envoy for Energy.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani discussed with the U.S. special envoy for Energy Carlos Pasqual and his accompanying delegation, prospects of the cooperation between Iraq and the U.S at various levels in the light of the agreement signed between the two countries.

    A presidential statement said that "The two sides stressed, during the meeting, which was attended by the U.S. ambassador in Baghdad, Stephen Beecroft, the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two sides.

    Talabani confirmed of Iraq's keenness to work vigorously to activate the terms of the strategic framework agreement, and seek to develop relations in all areas of economic, trade and cultural to the level of what it is in the political field.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari said the number of the Syrian refugees, crossed the Iraqi border since the beginning of the crisis, reached 61 thousand refugees.

    Zebari said in an interview with a number of journalists, "This is a big number, and indicates that the issue of displacement will increase."

    He added: "Iraq provides all the support for those displaced, also put a number of initiatives to resolve the Syrian crisis peacefully."

    Sadrist MP: Maliki creates crises for electoral propaganda

    Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Hussein al-Mansouri, of al-Ahrar bloc within al-Sadr Trend accused the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, of creating crises for the electoral propaganda.

    Speaking to All Iraq News Agency (AIN), he stated "Maliki creates the crises when the elections are about to start where they are some sides encourage him to achieve their personal interests."

    "The purpose of creating the crises is for electoral propaganda where the last crisis with Kurdistan Region is one of these crises," he concluded.

    The office of the Sadr Trend stated on last Tuesday that "Maliki exceeded all the traditions and his limits by stating against the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, when he criticized Maliki over arming the Iraqi Army where the purchased weapons must be for Iraq and not for another country."

    Earlier, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, criticized the statement issued by head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, regarding the armament contracts.

    Maliki’s official website released a statement which included his answer regarding a question asked by one of the journalists, he asked him about the latest statement issued by Sadr regarding arming the Iraqi Army that involved a number of dangerous accusations to him.

    Maliki’s answer was "Sadr’s statement doesn’t matter anymore and he will soon change his statements, his behavior doesn’t match with his statements."

    Regarding the arming of Iraqi Army, Maliki said "Any one who launches the accusations should prove his accusations before he start talking about it, otherwise he will face the legal consequences.

    PUK: Talabani to continue as Protector of constitution

    Baghdad (AIN) -The spokesman of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Azad Jundiyani, stressed that the President, Jalal Talabani, is fully committed to the constitution and he is a protector of it.



    In a press statement received by AIN, he said "Those who are currently violating the constitution want to distort the facts and show that they are not the only ones who are violating the Constitution and that other leaders in Iraq share them in this act."

    "The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and his followers believe that Talabani’s warnings regarding Maliki’s many violations of the constitution are unconstitutional because this will prevent him from taking the power for himself," he added.

    "The greatest danger now to the constitution and Iraq is the emergence of a new dictatorship which President Talabani is working hard to prevent the occurrence of that," he concluded.



    A noteworthy to mention, the Leader in the State of Law Coalition , Kamal al- Saadi in a statement to Alsumaria News earlier said " Talabani acts as a Kurdish Leader and as president of the Republic of Iraq.

    Talabani, Samarai discuss current political crisis

    Baghdad (AIN) –The President, Jalal Talabani, discussed with the head of the Peace and Development bloc, Abdul Karim al-Samarai, the current political disputes.

    A presidential statement received by AIN cited "Talabani, while meeting Samarai and the accompanied delegation at his office, discussed the political disputes among the political sides in addition to the exerted efforts to settle them in such a critical situation."

    "For his part, Samarai announced his support to Talabani's efforts, appreciating his adherence to unify the efforts to serve the interests of the Iraqi people," the statement concluded.
