ERBIL, Aug.14 (AKnews) - The leader in State of Law Coalition (SLC) Izzat al-Shabandar expressed Tuesday his optimism about the political situation in Iraq adding that the current differences will end soon with the meeting of Iraqi politicians.

Shabandar, who is a close associate of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, said: "The Arab and Kurdish leaders have a real desire to end the outstanding issues and move forward to build a new democratic Iraq.”

With regard to the political disputes, security threats and regional instability, Shabandar added: "What Iraq is passing through today is normal where it is the birth of a new democratic country that just emerged from a long black era."

With regard to the reasons for his optimism that all differences and political problems will be resolved soon, Shabandar said: "Iraq is an active country in many ways, including history, geography and lifestyle, and this is a fact. So at the end it will take its natural role in the movement of history. In addition to that all the Iraqi leaders have a real desire to rebuild Iraq and end the differences."

Iraq is witnessing a political crisis that started after the US withdrawal at the end of 2011 and after the issuance of an arrest warrant against Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi on charges of supporting terrorism.

The request of the Council of Representatives to withdraw confidence from Iraqiya List Saleh al-Mutlaq after he described PM Maliki as "a dictator" increased the tension, while the Kurdish Blocs Coalition and Iraqiya began demanding the withdrawal of confidence from Maliki.
