BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Head of the National Alliance Ibraheem al-Jaffari discussed with Kurdish National Union Party, headed by President Jalal Talabani, the main political issues.

Both sides discussed different viewpoints, mostly the National Conference, according to a statement by his office.

Iraq witnessed continued political crisis that culminated to some demands to demote Premier Maliki who was charged with "dictatorship" behavior.

Arbil-Najaf alliance (Iraqiya bloc, Sadrist Trend and the Kurdish Alliance) tried to withdraw confidence from Maliki, charging him "to unilaterally ruling the state and violating the constitution".

President Talabani refused to respond to the powers demanding Maliki's demotion, pointing that the signatures received were less than 164, but stressed that dialogue and the National Conference are the best ways to overcome political crises.

Talabani's stand stirred criticism of Iraqiya bloc, Sadrist Trend and some Kurdish MPs and described his opinion as "unexpected".

A number of meetings were held in Arbil, Najaf and Sulaimaniya during the last few weeks among the blocs that demanded demoting Maliki to determine their final stand on the political crisis. https://en.aswataliraq.info/%28S%28op...&id=149356&l=1
