Saudi Arabia issues a resolution on Iraq and authorizes the Minister of Interior to implement it

The Saudi cabinet on Tuesday decided to authorize the interior minister to discuss with Iraq a draft security cooperation agreement.

"The Council of Ministers decided to authorize His Royal Highness the Minister of the Interior, or his deputy, to discuss with the Iraqi side a draft security cooperation agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Iraq and to sign it, Signed, to complete the formal procedures. "

The decision came after a cabinet meeting in Tabuk, west of Saudi Arabia, chaired by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz.

On April 18, Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim announced an agreement with Saudi Arabia on cooperation in security and intelligence.

Hakim said in a press statement: "Relations between Baghdad and Riyadh will soon witness security cooperation and intelligence."

According to media reports, the Saudi-Iraqi security cooperation agreement includes the exchange of information on elements of an advocacy organization, which also includes security coordination on the common border between the two countries.
