Interior Minister Yasin Taher al-Yasiri met Tuesday with Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
"The minister conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to His Highness the Amir and the brotherly people of Kuwait," the media office said in a statement received by Baghdad today.
He stressed Iraq's keenness to "promote and strengthen the foundations of deep brotherly ties between Iraq and Kuwait in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and emphasizes the deep brotherly relationship between the two countries."
Interior Minister Yasin al-Yasiri is holding an official visit to Kuwait to meet with a number of dignitaries and sign agreements between the two countries.
