The Supreme Anti-Corruption Council is looking at a currency auction file and calls for the completion of a state real estate audit file

The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, discussed the currency auction file, while welcoming the directives of the religious authority represented by Mr. Ali Sistani.

"The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption held its 13th session under the chairmanship of Abdul Mahdi and the members," the media office of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said in a statement received by Baghdad today.

The Council expressed its "high appreciation of the directives given by the Supreme Religious Council in the last Friday sermon and its implications for the Iraqi reality in all its forms (government institutions, parties, political forces, civil society organizations and individuals) to deal with the fight against corruption seriously through effective mechanisms. And clear, and this is what the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption and make it a platform for his work by combating corruption as systems and not individuals in isolation from these systems.

The council praised "the cooperation of the bodies that the council referred to in a previous statement that should be provided with evidence and data after the talk in the media about some people or institutions of the existence of cases of corruption, which formed the input to the regulatory bodies to take action."
"The Council has the right to take legal action against those who falsely charge the charges without providing firm evidence."

He pointed out that "the Governor of the Central Bank listened to a special report on the window selling foreign currency in terms of reasons and justifications and mechanism of work and monitoring and actions taken and the diagnosis of gaps that are an introduction to corruption and ways to close them, and directed the Council a series of measures to be effective treatments.

The Council considered "a set of topics on its agenda where it listened to the report of the Bureau of Financial Supervision regarding the handling of the file of feeding in the Ministry of Defense and the progress achieved in this treatment, and also heard the report of the Integrity Commission on the subject of auditing contracts awarded for the export of black oil, Connection ".

He stressed the need to "speed up the completion of the files of the state real estate audit and the file of the audit of grants given to the displaced and stand on suspicion of corruption in this file, as well as follow-up procedures previously approved in respect of the file against drugs, as well as improving the business environment and investment and investor problems."
