Head of Investment Authority: U.S. international companies collaborate to enter Iraq

(Independent)... The Chairman of the National Investment Commission Sami Araji disclosed the cooperation of American international companies to enter Iraq, specifically in four governorates, noting that this year will witness a great openness and a clear renaissance in the country.

"At the end of 2013 and early in 2014, the finest global American companies began cooperating with them to enter Iraq and through four governorates of Baghdad, Basra, Najaf and Karbala," Araji said in a speech at a consultative seminar titled "Iraq's Path towards economic development through excellence".

"We have come a long way with foreign companies and we have sent delegations to New York to negotiate with them, and the negotiations have been concluded and we agreed to come to Baghdad to diagnose the place," he said, adding that "international companies are entering Iraq without an intermediary from the Arab countries."

"Since 2014, it has been assumed that global brands have been dealt with, but the entry of Isis into some provinces has changed the equation," he said, explaining that" this year will see a great opening and a clear renaissance in the country, as well the creation of jobs for many Iraqis."
