The national meeting discusses the adoption of visions that will help the political decision makers to run the country

The Presidency of the Republic that the National Consultative Meeting held Wednesday at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, and at the invitation of President Barham Saleh, discussed the adoption of visions and ideas to help the makers of political decision in the administration of the country.

"The meeting discussed developments in the political and security situation, the latest developments in the war against terrorism, the position of the military presence in the country, and the implementation of the government program and work to overcome differences," the spokesman of the president, Luqman al-Faily, said in a statement.

He added that the two discussed the need to adopt visions and ideas to help the decision makers in the political management of the country and achieve its rise and prosperity and resolve the problems that stand in the democratic process in Iraq, and also touched on the basic legislation that concern the citizen and the relationship between the legislative and executive authorities, And its participation in the Arab-European summit reflects the openness of Iraq to its brothers and friends.

The Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, gave a detailed explanation on the developments in the security situation, especially in the liberated areas and the preparations of the security forces in this regard, in addition to the government plans to deal with the services file. He also reviewed the most important files to be addressed by the Council in its chapter Legislative and constitutional entitlements awaiting discussion by members of the House of Representatives after the resumption of the Council for its meetings next week.

He added that most of the invitees discussed the agenda and the impact of the views and proposals, stressing the need to hold meetings periodically in order to approach the views that would bridge the gap differences between political parties, which contribute to laying the principles of democracy and justice in a federal Iraq, according to the statement.

Al-Faily pointed out that the meeting stressed that the priorities of the Iraqi leaders to preserve the sovereignty of the country and pursue a policy of self-exclusion and move away from the policy of axes and the country away from regional and international conflicts and conflicts and to be a platform for convergence and the interests of the Iraqi people and work to adopt the slogan "Iraq first."

The spokesman added that the meeting was attended by the presidents of the republic, deputies and ministers, the Supreme Court and the Federal Court and leaders of blocs and political parties and national figures and representatives of various components of Iraq.
