Following the widening of crimes against humanity committed by the US-backed coalition led by Saudi Arabia, the US House of Representatives voted (248-177) on a draft resolution banning the participation of US troops in the war in Yemen.

The draft resolution is now in the Senate, where it is expected to have majority support. But the White House had threatened to veto the resolution if approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate.

If approved, it would be the first time in decades that Congress has used its powers to pull US troops out of a war zone.
