Iraq must protect its sovereignty and free its economy from corruption and bureaucratic obstacles

Douglas Seelman: Iraq must protect its sovereignty and liberate its economy from corruption and bureaucratic obstacles.

Former US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Seelman has offered three points for success in Iraq, in a statement on the end of his work in Baghdad.

"Iraq must protect its sovereignty by securing its borders and building security forces that are governed by the government's own order," he said. "Iraq must liberate its economy from corruption and bureaucratic obstacles that prevent businessmen from expanding their projects and creating new job opportunities." Its doors are open to the world and its impact in the world increases.
He added that the armed factions outside the control of the state, has taken control of many areas of the country, which led to fear and frustration of many of the displaced Iraqis, and prevented their return home, pointing out that Daqash still seeks to instill fear among the Iraqis through Terrorist attacks.
