Iraq ‘s economy unifies customs duties with Kurdistan and the rest of the ports and eliminates the points of Kirkuk

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Finance Minister Fuad Hussein, chaired the second session of the meeting of the Committee on Economic Affairs.

The meeting was attended by ministers (Planning, Trade, Industry and Agriculture), the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, the economic advisors to the Prime Minister, the representative of the Minister of Oil and Ali Al-Sindi, the Minister of Planning in the Kurdistan Region and the advanced cadres in the Ministry of Finance in the Region. The Economic Affairs Committee has taken its decision to standardize customs duties at all border ports, including the ports of the Kurdistan Region, as this decision is of great economic importance through the payment of customs duties and a unified tax at all ports. It regulates the flow of goods and commodities and activates trade and standardization of import licenses and documents. In this regard.

The Commission also decided to cancel the current customs inspection and inspection points in Fayda, Shirawa, north of Kirkuk, and Lailan east of Kirkuk, encouraging and developing internal trade and the flow of materials and goods inside Iraq.

The committee also decided to regulate gold and precious metals trade in Iraq. And the Ministry of Transport to work at all border crossings under the law of the Ministry of Transport in force for the purpose of facilitating the work of its relevant structures.

The committee also decided to oblige all outlets to implement national product protection and agricultural calendar commitments in order to promote local products.

These decisions are aimed at promoting economic growth, encouraging and stimulating trade, supporting the private sector, simplifying and standardizing procedures in all state facilities, and providing the state budget with the revenue generated by these decisions.

It is worth mentioning that the above decisions were taken after a series of meetings and meetings between specialists in the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
