Newspaper: Prepare a parliamentary memorandum to reduce the Vice-President of the Republic to one deputy

Saudi Arabia’s Okaz newspaper reported on Wednesday (October 24, 2018) the preparation of a parliamentary memorandum to amend the law of the presidency, in order to reduce the number of vice presidents from three to one deputy.

The newspaper said quoting unnamed sources, that “this memo aimed to block the way to Nuri al-Maliki and Iyad Allawi and Osama Najafi, Vice-Presidents, who are exempt from their posts, to return to these positions again.”

“The alliance supports Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi in his efforts to complete his ministerial team, and does not object to the submission of an incomplete government to the parliament session today, to complete its formation on the constitutional date,” he said.

“The newspaper returned to clarify that” Abdul-Mahdi settled about 70% of the members of his ministerial team, but there are differences on the sovereign ministries that have not been resolved permanently, and is expected to announce the composition of the new government partially today. ”

For his part, criticized the MP from the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Pierre Tahir Said, the allocation of one ministry of sovereignty to the Kurds, saying that “this would become a custom in the future, which negatively affects our participation in the administration of Iraq.”

He stressed, according to “Okaz”, “the need to give the Kurds and other sovereign ministry, such as foreign or internal defense to add to the Ministry of Finance to be received in the new government to become the number of their bags 4.
