Berlin confirms the willingness of German companies to invest in Iraq

A German delegation confirmed on Sunday the readiness of German companies to exploit investment opportunities available in Iraq.
"The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi received Thomas Parais, Minister of State for Economic and Energy Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the accompanying delegation," the Information Office of Halaboussi said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
The statement added that "the meeting discussed ways to create the appropriate legislative conditions to support cooperation between Iraq and Germany in the sectors of energy, water and health."
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, "the great role of Germany in supporting Iraq at all levels," calling for "more fruitful cooperation between the two countries and contribute to meet the basic needs of the Iraqi citizen."
For his part, the German delegation stressed "Berlin's keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Iraq and the readiness of German companies to exploit the investment opportunities available in it."
