Iraqi commercial delegation in Iran

The largest private Iraqi trade delegation headed to Iran on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation with the private sector in Iran.

"The Iraqi delegation is headed by the director-general of the Chambers of Commerce in Iraq, Jaafar al-Hamdani, and includes 22 people, including the heads of the chambers of commerce in Iraq and a number of senior Iraqi businessmen active in the plastics sector," said Nasser Behzad, Electricity, agriculture, trade and real estate.
Bahzad said the Iraqi delegation would be in Iran for three days and would also visit the city of Mashhad as part of coordination between the Iranian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce and hosted by the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture.

The visit is aimed at meeting with private sector officials and senior Iranian economic officials to discuss boosting trade cooperation and joint mechanisms in this field.
Behzad said the private sector in Iran and Iraq is determined to facilitate joint cooperation and make way for investment by Iranian businessmen in Iraq.
The value of trade between Iran and Iraq exceeded 13 billion and 210 million dollars last year (ended March 20, 2018).
