The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Thursday commented on the British ambassador's eulogy in Baghdad, in which he spoke about the next Iraqi government.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its surprise at the British Ambassador to Baghdad and his talk about the nature of the task of the next Iraqi government," ministry spokesman Ahmed Mahjoub said in a press statement.

Adding that it 'confirms that the foreign decision to form the Iraqi government is a purely Iraqi national decision and the tasks assigned to it is the mandate of the people through the Iraqi parliament and his blessing, the ministry hopes more international and regional support for the political process in general and to ensure the sovereignty of Iraq'
