America reassures Kurdish traders about the sanctions on Iran

The US Consul General in Erbil on Wednesday assured Kurdish traders that the situation in Iran will not have an impact on the economy of the Kurdistan Region.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kurdistan met Wednesday in Erbil with the US Consul General and his economic advisor, the head of Sulaymaniyah Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in a press statement. He pointed out that the two sides discussed the trade and economic relations between the region and the neighboring countries and the United States of America.

He added that the union called for the arrival of a delegation from the Chambers of Commerce in Washington to Kurdistan, referring to a working protocol between the Union and the former American side.

He pointed out that the two sides talked during the meeting about economic sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran and the question of the extent of their impact on Kurdistan, adding that the Union demanded the American side to take into account that Kurdistan has many works with Iran, especially the arrival of transit, which is the main gate of the city of Sulaymaniyah.

He pointed out that the American side assured the Kurdish merchants that the siege does not include food and the commercial route mentioned.
