Abadi's policy to issue a new list of corrupt officials

(Reuters) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Tuesday that a new list of corrupt government officials would soon be referred to the Integrity Commission.

"We will not stop chasing corruption and there is a new list of corrupt people to be released soon," Abadi said at his weekly conference after meeting with his government team of ministers in Baghdad.

Abadi said that the religious reference in Najaf, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, "an important role and rhetoric helps the government in the fight against corruption."

Abadi's media office announced earlier today that the latter had referred senior officials to the Integrity Commission to investigate files of corruption.
