Isolating stations in Baghdad bunk for election results

Shafaq News / The Electoral Commission announced the isolation of three stations for manual counting in Baghdad for lack of conformity with the declared results.

A source in the Electoral Commission told Ashqaf News that the process of counting and sorting was completed for 263 stations of the contested stations for Baghdad Alkharkh.

He added that all the results are identical except three stations have been isolated.

The Council of Judges assigned to the Independent High Electoral Commission has started counting and manual sorting first in the province of Kirkuk on the third of July, followed by Iraqi cities in full.

This comes at a time when Iraq entered a legislative vacuum for the first time since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003, with the end of the third session of the parliament waiting for a manual recount of the votes of the legislative elections.
The outgoing parliament passed a manual counting of ballots in the elections, but the Judicial Committee, which currently supervises the process, said it would only count the votes on which the complaints were lodged.
